The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Once upon a time there were three goats, who were going to eat themselves fat on the big meadow, and all three of them were named Billy Goat Gruff. On the way there was a bridge over a stream, that they had to cross over, and under that bridge a horrible troll lived with eyes as big as tin plates and a nose as long as a rake stick.

First came the youngest Billy Goat Gruff and started walking over the bridge. Trip trap, trip trap it said on the bridge.

-Who is trip traping on my bridge? Shouted the troll.

-Oh, it is the smallest Billy Goat Gruff. I´m going to the meadow to eat myself fat, said the goat.

-Now I´ll come and get you! Said the troll.

-Oh no, don´t get me, because I am so little. Wait a while till the middle Billy Goat Gruff is coming. He´s a lot bigger!

-Alright, said the troll.

After a little while came the second Billy Goat Gruff and started crossing the bridge. TRIP TRAP, TRIP TRAP, it said on the bridge.

-Who´s TRIP TRAPING on my bridge? Shouted the troll.

-Oh, it is the middle Billy Goat Gruff. I´m going to the meadow to eat myself fat, said the goat. His voice was a bit stronger than the little goat´s.

-Now I´ll come and get you! Shouted the troll.

-Oh no, don´t get me. Wait a while till the big Billy Goat Gruff is coming. He´s a lot bigger!

-Alright, said the troll.

All of a sudden the big Billy Goat Gruff came. TRIP TRAP, TRIP TRAP, it said. That goat was so big that the bridge creaked and shook.

-Who´s stomping on my bridge? Screamed the troll.

-It´s the big Billy Goat Gruff, said the goat. He had a very strong voice.

-Now I´ll come and get you! Shouted the troll.

-Just come on! I´ll butt you! Said the goat.

And so he ran at the troll and butted it straight down the water. And thanks to that all three of them could go to the meadow. There was so much nice grass and they ate themselves so fat, that they didn´t manage to get back home again. And if the fat hasn´t come off them yet, they´re still there.
